It's about Life as well

Initially, most of our clients come to us with weight loss, fitness, strength, nutrition, muscle building and/or health goals.

Now that’s awesome and is what we help people with on a daily basis…

However, it should not be the only focus!

Setting goals properly is part of the process of change, and whilst I believe in it, I don’t think the goals should be the be all and end of everything…

…and I don’t think they be JUST about a body shape, a size, a weight etc…

It is as important to have other targets, mini goals and outcomes that transfer into your real day to day life.

This gives you chance to 'win' or feel ‘success’ on a much more regular basis.

Lets look at some things that you can actually bring into your life that makes day to day living, set up for success…

(We’ll call them ‘life goals’ but it can be whatever you want…daily actions, achievements, success list, life wins..etc)

Now, before the formal goal setting police reply I know that some of these may not stick to the principle of SMART goals every time… but I don’t care...these are important (sometimes more so) and you can set them with just the same excitement.

Here are some examples…

Being able to walk up 3 flights of stairs without feeling like an asthma attack is imminent.

 

Lift the grand-kids without any back pain.

 

Play with your own kids on the trampoline for an hour without having a ‘rest’.

 

Start a new sport like tennis, golf, rounders or squash or increase the amount of games you can play without feeling like you’re going to collapse.

 

Go swimming without feeling self-conscious and nailing 20 lengths.

 

Prove to your younger fit Pro-Fit trainers that the old guys have still got it (well, kind of haha).

 

Move the furniture in your front room with ease.

 

Nail your local walking route…

 

Be able to take the kids for a bike ride…

 

Tie your shoe laces pain free…

 

Have the energy to play with the kids when you get in from work…

 

Take up new activity or sport...

 

Be able to run after the dog when it runs away…

 

Be able to go on an active/adventure break with your family…

 

Have the energy & be mentally and emotionally ‘fit’ enough to look after or care for someone else…

 

Have the mental and emotional headspace to think clearly and make good decisions…

 

To have the capacity to deal with the day to day challenges life throws at you.

 

You will be able to think of loads that are relevant to you and your life.

 

The great thing about these is that they are really personal and often matter most.

 

This is because your fitness and health efforts are actually transferring to real life…and making it better…making you FEEL happier.

Feeling independent, empowered and capable of these things is a huge motivator, as well as rewarding…
